I Brushed My Teeth with Tap Water in Mexico Again

Habits are going to screw you or save you.

We are in Mexico and my husband Soren is standing at the sink, and he KNOWS you don’t use tap water in Mexico to brush your teeth. So he’s standing there, with his toothbrush in one hand and puts the tooth paste on it, then reaches for the sink, turns it on, then stops because duh Mexico water. So then turns it off, opens the bottled water, pours it over his toothpaste tooth brush, brushes his teeth and then 30 seconds later, reaches and turns on the tap to rinse, then stops because duh Mexico water. Pours the bottles water on his toothbrush to wash it off, then reaches for the tap AGAIN to get water to rinse his mouth! And then starts to crack up and then finally, uses the bottled water for time #3 because BIG DUH, Mexico water.

Habits. Love ’em or hate ’em but the habitual brain is TOTALLY in charge. How to use that to your advantage without Montezuma’s Revenge.

Well It Finally Happened

twitterheaderI’m 50. Today’s my birthday! And it seems I have actually learned a few things in HALF A FREAKIN’ CENTURY…So I want to share them with you!

It’s here! My NEW Podcast, “The Improvised Life with Katie Goodman!”

So let’s start with this…. um… So Jesus came to me in my over-achiever dream…

Yup. It’s true. I’m no ordinary overachiever. I have to compete with JESUS.

And as a good little overachiever, I’m spending my 50th birthday launching my new podcast for you!

So here’s the thing I started realizing about achievement. It’s completely random. I have about 5 million views of my comedy videos. So what’s the goal here? 5 million and 1???? Your brain wants to believe there’s some actual number that means something. Like NOW I’ve arrived. What if you work in an emergency room and help 100 people a week. But you feel like it’s not enough. Would 110 make you a better person?

It’s the belief that there’s this certain amount of visibility or validation or appreciation or money or fame that makes you OKAY. And I imagine a lot of you totally get what I’m saying but how many of us really question this on a regular basis. How many of us just keep plugging away stressed and striving and overworking and being disappointed that we never have enough success?

My new podcast offers bite-sized (10-20 minute), insightful, useful episodes that will give you the tools to finally get out of your own way and create the life and work you love.

I walk you through the self-help tools and stories and strategies to get you unblocked, unstressed, and to know what you really want so you head in the right direction without wasting time and energy or end up somewhere you didn’t mean to.

I’m going to help you learn how to make your Inner Critic Go Away so you have the best day yet. I’m going to help you feel smarter more creative, confident, excited and alive.

AND HERE’S YOUR CHANCE TO WIN 30-MINUTES OF FREE COACHING: I’m currently fully booked with private coaching clients, but you can have the chance to be one of 5 people that will get 30 minutes of FREE life-coaching from me on Skype, if you are one of the first 50 people to rate my podcast on iTunes and give it a one sentence review!

Subscribe on iTunes by clicking the link at the top and then just rate it and review it (short is fine!) and you’ll automatically be in the lottery!

Okay guys! I worked my patootie off creating this! Hope it helps you and I hope you enjoy it!
